Accessibility audit

I have carried out an audit of the site in terms of physical access for keyboard users and a quick look at Narrator. It's mostly good but there are some problems as below.

A site serach for accessinbility does not put the guide at the top - although it is on a menu I think it should come higher than 50% on a search

The accessing page is a pit techy given that users may look at these pages so I will have a go at editing that page. There is no link to the keybaprd shortcuts guide.

The icons for print, language etc come too high in the tab scanning order (before user scenarios on the Accessibility page.

A guide on how to improve the visibility of the tab highlight in various browsers would be useful.

Narrator does not peak out the hotkeys (shortcuts) - it should speak out the command. Search is OK however and advanced search - should work with all.

You cannot navigate the site map with the keyboard.

The main Home page graphic does not have alt text so narrator speaks some gonnledegook with narrator (Oats port Window - Oats portal winodw pane: read only)

The tool tips/alt text does not appear with a tab scan - should it do that or is that IE6?

alt + 6 (Site Navigation treee) and alt + 9 (Menu) do not seem to work in IE6

Somewhere I was directed to Forge#portlet-navigation-tree which to not bring up what it should (some of the menus tuned into Swedish but the tet was in English)

The tab order on pages is not always logical. If we could do it in sections whould be great and then left to right / top to bottom tab scan within those section.
