From the authors:

For people with reading and writing difficulties, having text reinforced by hearing it read aloud can be very useful. Specialised programs have existed to do this for a long time, and in many cases are extremely helpful and highly appropriate and should be seriously considered, perhaps in consultation with professional advice where necessary. WordTalk is a free plug-in developed for use with all versions of Microsoft Word (from Word 97 upwards), which can help people with reading difficulties use Microsoft Word more effectively. It will speak the text of the document and will highlight it as it goes. It contains a talking dictionary to help decide which word spelling is most appropriate. It sits neatly in your toolbar and is highly configurable, allowing you to adjust the highlight colours, the voice and the speed of the speech.

Word Talk and Word 07

Wordtalk appears on my add in ribbon, however I get a system error when I want it to read the document. Does Wordtalk work with Word 07?

64 bit systems

We tried to download and run this program and couldn't get it to work. The download never finished. After reading about it, I saw that it said it works only on a 32 bit system. Is that correct? Do you have any plans to create a 64 bit version? I'm also having problems with your site. I tried the "Contact us" but the emails bounce back as undeliverable. I tried to download MSXML 5.0 and it wouldn't download either. I appreciate your time and help. Thank you for what you are doing to help those who can't read because of disabilities. Great work! :-)

download page issue

Posted by Anonymous User at 2011-03-08 17:01
Good morning
I am trying to download WordTalk
but your download page requires me to
enter a semi-hidden word.
The irony is that as a vision impaired person, I cannot clearly identify the hidden word.

Is there an alternate method for downloading the program?

The same issue applies if I try to send this message through your Contact us page.
