From the authors:
Whistling-driven mouse pointer. An alternative way how to control your mouse pointer. We have implemented and tested the following two different interpretations:
The orthogonal operation mode
- The motion of the mouse cursor in any time can be controlled either horizontally, or vertically.
- To control the horizontal motion, start to whistle a tone with its frequency below a specified threshold. As you keep whistling, you shift the pitch of the tone, either up (for motion to the right) or down (for motion to the left). The magnitude of the interval you glissed through controls the speed of the motion.
- To control the vertical motion, do exactly the same except for the initial pitch of the tone which must be above the gray threshold line.
- To click, whistle a short tone (about 1/10 sec.).
The melodic operation mode
- Different tones are assigned to different direction of motions.
- To click, whistle a short tone (about 1/10 sec.).
Our implementation is ready for download, see below.
