Requirements

The latest stable version of Shoot is 1.6.4. These are the prerequistes for running the current version of the program:

  • Windows 98/ME/2000/XP
  • A SAPI 5.1-compatible speech recognition engine, such as the one shipped with M$ Office XP. You can download it here (35 mb) or directly from Microsoft.
  • Microsoft .NET Framework (23 mb).
  • Microsoft DirectX 8.1 or better. You will most likely have this piece of software already installed if you're planning to use Shoot with a modern game or if you're running Windows XP.

  • Changed encoding type of included profiles to iso-8859-1 to support extended characters (present in non-US keyboards).
  • The key type for a space can be either "Space" or " ". Useful for sending character sequences with embedded spaces.
  • Phrase and keys display were not being reset when a new profile was loaded. Fixed.
  • SAPI profiles can be changed from within Shoot now.
  • Version 1.4 to 1.5

  • Profile commands can now be exported as html for easy referencing.
  • Shoot now works in Windows98/ME!
  • Added speech recognizer status icon on status bar.
  • Fixed bug when attempting to use Shoot concurrently with other programs that might need to access the sound input device.
  • Added mapping for keys present in certain keyboards: BrowserBack, BrowserForward, BrowserStop, BrowserRefresh, BrowserSearch, BrowserFavorites, BrowserHome, Mail, Mute, VolumeUp, VolumeDown, Media, MediaPlayPause, MediaStop, MediaPrevious, MediaNext
  • The profile can be specified as a command line parameter and it will be loaded automatically when Shoot loads.
  • Added IL-2 profile (created by Rick "Nodak01").
  • Added option to change the active speech profile (Speech->Recognizer->Profiles).
