ARASAAC Pictograms

A free (CC-BY-NC-SA) resource of around 5000 colour and black & white pictographic symbols from Catedu and the Aragonese Portal of Augmentative and Alternative Communication in Spain.

Concept Coding Framework (CCF)

Around the world, people with impaired communication, including difficulties to read or write, may use symbols as an alternative or complement to character based texts. Referencing to, and exchanging these alternatively coded messages over the Internet is difficult due to the lack of standardised encoding schemes and common practises. The Concept Coding Framework (CCF) is being developed to overcome some of these difficulties.

EdWord and EdWeb

EdWord is a talking word processor that allows you to combine text with symbols. EdWeb is a talking web browser that can display web pages as a combination of text and symbols.

FoxySymbols

A firefox extension to provide symbol annotation to text content. This will make use of the concept coding framework, but instead of being a server side technology be a client browser extension. It would be useful to add in other useful accessible features for the aac user, but primary focus will be symbol annotation.

Mulberry symbol set

A symbol set designed by professionals that is free of cost. Image format is .wmf (colour & black 'n white), plus other formats such as .svg, .png, .jpg, and .pdf. You will need to login to our website (www.straight-street.com) to download the symbols

A dyslexic text reader/learning tool, a graphical, interactive text reader integrated with computer text-to-speech whose level of focus, complexity, and detail is adjustable according to the user's needs.
