Simon

Simon has worked in the Assistive Technology field since graduating in 1999, he strongly believes in a role for Open Source within the Assistive Technology field. Simon is one of the OATS collaborators and has been heavily involved in the production of the OATS site.

I work at ACT (Access to Communication and Technology), Birmingham - ACT is the regional EAT (Electronic Assistive Technology) service for the West Midlands.  An NHS team, we assess for and provide Environmental Controls, AAC Alternative and Augmentative Communication) devices, computer access equipment and other EAT.  ACT is part of the West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre - under whose roof are a wide range of Assistive Technology services including special wheelchair controls, posture and mobility, gait labs and consultant's clinics.

Within OATS I have lead on the production and design of this site, particularly the customisation of the Software Center.

Anyway, use these links for more on me or for more about ACT  (horribly inaccessible and fairly generally horrible at the moment - this will improve shortly: work in progress!).

Feel free to contact me with any questions about this project.
