I have recently submitted three programs that I use on a nearly daily basis with students at the school where I work. Two of the programs are used mostly as cause and effect media players and the other is a launcher program. Most of the students I work with are developing basic skills with hopes that they will master some sort of scanning approach for indicating preferences, and that they will eventually use these methods for more general communication. I also use these programs with students who use a touchscreen. Below is a more detailed description of these programs.
Jim Luther's Work on Accessible Materials by Administrator (AKA) Andy Judson — last modified 2006-01-31 00:19
I have been engaged in the AT field for the past 13 years and have been actively creating materials of all sorts, both hardware and software, low and high tech, for students with disabilities who attend the Langan School in Albany, NY. I am willing to share my as yet to be compiled catalog of AT device designs, and accessible software applications. My recent software projects include work on simple media players built with Runtime Revolution, Visual Basic for Applications enhancements to augment access for PowerPoint presentations, and switch and keyboard accesible web page based applications using Internet Explorer. My recent hardware projects include a lightweight, attractive, headstick pointer, low cost(< $5), zero force switches and low cost (<$10) proximity switches.
