OATS site launched!

The world's first website dedicated listing and developing Open Source Assistive Technology was launched today!

OATS (Open-source Assistive Technology Software) is a pilot project aimed at making the benefits of open source software accessible to a much wider community –including users of assistive technology.  The target audience for assistive technology software is people with disabilities who may struggle with using a computer in a conventional fashion.  In addition OATS aims to develop communities of users, clinicians, educationalists and software developers interested in providing assistive technology solutions.

The project has developed a ‘one-stop shop’ website with a repository of open source software, resources and other copyright free materials and a forge to bring together users and developers to host new open source projects.
