Here's and example built with XULRunner: Songbird is a Open Source media player with loads of features. I think I mentioned it before on the list when annsounced in feb as being of interested, particularly if it promotes open standards for access and download (cf iTunes).
This time I mention it as an example of what can be done in XUL.
