OK, there is a great book out (http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/googlemapshks ) about using the open Google maps API ( http://www.google.com/apis/maps/ )to make cool mapping tools.  How could this be used for AT?

There is also lots of interest in Location Based Devices ( http://www.tiresias.org/phoneability/seminar_location_based_services.htm ) (proceedings to come out soon, and i'll put my notes online soon too)...

Haven't really thought this through yet!!!  However it may be used to do things like:
  • store personal contextual information about areas and change your communication aid vocabulary accordingly
  • return maps/contextual information about areas you are walking through on your communication aid
er....

?
